Congratulations

Karen Settles-Read 180 Stage B Teacher of the Year goes out to Karen Settles, the Reading Specialist at Oscar Smith Middle School.  She has been selected as the Stage B Outstanding Educator of the Year for Scholastic.  Karen will be traveling honorary status to the READ 180 National Summer Institute in New Orleans, LA to receive her award and monetary gift July 23rd-26th.

MetLife Breakthrough SchoolsDr. James Roberts, Superintendent of Chesapeake Public Schools, visited Oscar Smith Middle School  to congratulate faculty and staff for being selected for the MetLife Foundation NASSP Breakthrough Award.  Oscar Smith Middle School is one of only five middle schools nationwide to receive this award in 2012.
