Study Tips

General Hints:

• Go to class - Attendance is IMPORTANT!

• Participate in class - you learn more if you are involved.

• Use your textbooks.

• Talk to your teacher if you don't understand something.

• Start studying from the first day!  Do not "cram" for tests; review your notes and material daily.

• Stay organized; use your planner.  Keep everything in one place.

• Get the names and phone numbers from three or four classmates in your class that you can call if you don't get an assignment or you wrote it down incorrectly.

Tips for Parents:

• Reward progress - use a lot of praise.

• Acknowledge difficulties.

• Provide structure.

• Help your child become a self - advocate with teachers.
