Student Recognition
Great Bridge Intermediate is proud to recognize the many accomplishments achieved by its' students throughout the year. Several recognition events occur daily, weekly, monthly, and at the end of each grading period. These recognitions include the following:
Birthday Pencils. Students are recognized on their birthday with a special GBI birthday pencil.
Displays of Student Work.- Student work is displayed on a regular basis throughout the corridors of the school building.
Hall of Honor. This display of student work is located in the main corridor adjacent to the main office and is reserved for honorary recognition of student efforts.
Super Wildcats. This program is an effort to improve academic success in the areas of reading and math. At the end of each month, teachers nominate one student who excelled in reading and one student who excelled in math for that month. These students are recognized during the morning announcements, awarded a "Super Wildcat" button, and recognition certificate by the school principal. A group photograph is taken and placed on display in a showcase located in the front hall of the school.

Citizenship Wildcats. Student are selected for this honor by their teacher for recognition at the conclusion of each nine week grading period. Selection is based on exemplary behavior and outstanding school citizenship. "Citizenship Wildcats" are recognized during the morning announcements, awarded a "Citizenship Wildcat" button, and recognition certificate by the school principal. Additionally, students are treated to cake and ice cream at a special celebration held in their honor in the cafeteria at the end of the school day. A photograph is taken of the group and placed on display in a showcase located in the front hall of the school.
